In this blog, we take you on a journey through the Plastic Soup Foundation's mission and tell you why we chose to work with this organization. For every bottle sold we donate 1 euro to the Plastic Soup Foundation and we do this twice a year. Since our start in 2020, we have already donated more than 2000 euros to the Platic Soup Foundation. All this thanks to our customers, we are grateful!
Against disposable plastic
PSF's mission is clear and that is that the plastic soup must stop as soon as possible. This is necessary to ensure that the earth remains habitable for future generations. In our search for the right target, PSF appealed to us the most. Our mission has many similarities with PSF's mission. This is the reason for us to enter into a partnership! The waste mountain of disposable plastic is enormous and trucks full of waste are dumped into the sea every day. We also realize that there is still a long way to go. In addition, we are confident that we can tackle this problem together with humanity.
Plastic is bad for your health
In addition to the damage to our nature and animals, plastic also has a very adverse effect on our body. As plastic breaks (note plastic never breaks!) small particles of plastic are formed. We call these particles micro or nano plastics. They are difficult to see with the naked eye, but they are harmful to our body.
How do microplastics get into our body?
Our ocean is full of micro and nano plastics. This small piece of plastic is eaten by fish and we end up eating the fish. This is how we get these little pieces of plastic into our bodies. More and more studies show that this can cause serious health problems in the long term. Time for action!
What can you do yourself?
Do you want to use less plastic? On the right track! Often you just don't know where to start. Plastic Soup Foundation has developed a super handy app for this. The app is called My Little Platstic Footprint and helps you make the right choices. Read more and download the app by clicking here .
